
MEEKER | Captain Brianna Brown, daughter of Brian Bofinger of Meeker, has assumed company command at Evans Community Hospital, Medical Company, at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Brown is from Poulsbo, Washington. She is a mother to Brinley and a wife to her husband, Blake. CPT Brown commissioned into the Active Duty Army as a medical service corps officers in 2015 from the Central Washington University. She completed BOLC at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and reported to Baumholder, Germany in the winter of 2015.
While in Germany, CPT Brown was assigned to the 421st Medical Battalion (Multifunctional) for three years. She served as the Deputy S3, Ground Evacuation Platoon Leader and later as the company executive officer participating in countless real world medical missions and other training exercises. CPT Brown reported the 82nd ABN DIV Sustainment Brigade in December 2018 as the Brigade Medical Logistics officer. She later transitioned into the Brigade Medical Operations position planning medical coverage for countless BDE events while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CPT Brown assumed Command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 189th DSSB, 82D Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade in February 2022. Within a week of taking command her company was activated for a no notice deployment in support of the Immediate Response Force (IRF) and deployed to southeastern Poland in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.
CPT Brown’s military and civilian education includes graduation from the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Captain Career Course, AMEDD Basic Officer Leader Course, Medical Logistics Course, and Airborned School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in law and justice from Central Washington University and a Master’s Degree in business administration from Washington State University.
Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Meritorius Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge and the Expert Field Medical Badge.
