In November 2021, it was revealed that Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim: Uprising) had joined Disney+’s upcoming “Ahsoka” series. Details about Sakhno’s character were kept under wraps at the time, but according to a new report, we now know who the actor will play in the film Star Wars series.

The news comes from MakingStarWars.net who reports the following:

Several sources have confirmed to me that Ivanna Sakhno is playing a new character called “Shin”. Shin is an apprentice of Baylon, a Force user who has embraced the dark side, likely in allegiance with The Nightsisters. She is cold, calculating and desperate to prove herself to her Jedi Master.

As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, we’ll treat this as a rumor for now.

Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka in the limited series which we last saw in Season 2 of The Mandalorian and in chapter 6 of The Book of Boba Fett. Reports have confirmed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo will portray Sabine Wren and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Kate, raptors) has reportedly been cast as Hera Syndulla. Additionally, Ray Stevenson (Vikings) joined the cast. THR reports that “he’s a villain in the series and will play an admiral … but not Thrawn.”

According to a new casting rumor, Lars Mikkelsen has been cast to play Grand Admiral Thrawn in the upcoming “Ahsoka” series. Mikkelsen voiced Thrawn in Star Wars: Rebels.

Insider Daniel Richtman previously revealed the following logline and synopsis for the series:

In “Ahsoka,” Tano (Rosario Dawson) is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in hopes that it will help her find the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi who disappeared with Thrawn years ago. Based on characters from the “Star Wars” series. A spinoff of the TV series “The Mandalorian”.

Eman Esfandi (King Richard) was recently announced to play Ezra Bridger in the series.

Peter Ramsey will reportedly direct at least one episode of Disney+’s upcoming “Ahsoka” series. Ramsey is the first black filmmaker to win an animated film Oscar as co-director of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Dave Filoni is attached to write the show and executive produce alongside Jon Favreau.

The filming of the series has already ended.

“Ahsoka” is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
