Among the various heroes that fans wanted to see back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones was among the top along with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. After the confirmed return of Cox, being an established character in the MCU and getting his own revival series, fans have been more than excited to expect more characters to return.
There had initially been rumors about Jessica Jones’ involvement in Daredevil: Born Again. However, this idea was said to be shelved due to Ritter’s busy schedule and the possibility of replacing her engagement with Bernthal’s. Although, once again, there could be a possibility of the actress returning to the franchise with her latest stories on Instagram.

Krysten Ritter may return as Jessica Jones
In some of her recent Instagram stories, Krysten Ritter was seen working out wearing a Daredevil t-shirt. While seeing her work out and share a story about it isn’t new, seeing her rock a Devil of Hell’s Kitchen t-shirt was an interesting sight. It could very easily be a hint about her return to the MCU. It was initially said that Ritter would be a part of the franchise from then on Daredevil: Born Again, but that rumor was quickly debunked.
Just like how Charlie Cox was introduced with a minor cameo, there could be a possibility that Ritter has the same. Both Echo and Daredevil: Born Again could have room for the actress to take on her role. Marvel has recently been pushing for surprise cameos in almost all of their new projects. From Don Cheadle in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to Brie Larson in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Not only that, but the many cameos Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Jessica Jones may also return to the MCU with a simple cameo in one of the upcoming projects. Cox’s series could further focus on establishing major characters like the Defenders and Punisher rather than minor characters like Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

Daredevil could bring back the Defenders into the MCU
A key role that Daredevil could play in the MCU is reintroducing the entire team of defenders. Everything from Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Punisher. This could start with simple appearances in his own show. Then came across the franchise as well, which eventually led to them getting their own series. A case similar to Charlie Cox.
While there is no confirmation that any of them will return, this could be a slow process where Marvel takes its time establishing each new character. Especially considering how Phase 4 was purely an introductory phase for the franchise.
Daredevil: Born Again will be released on Disney+ in spring 2024.
