Hundreds of students graduate from Laredo high schools every year, but only a select few are able to selected at the head of their class.
The top student, by way of GPA, is bestowed the title of Valedictorian while the second top student is named the Salutatorian of their graduating class.
Along with the prestige of the title comes the attention of top colleges, with the students having almost carte blanche to decide where to continue their educational career.
