A teen accused in the carjacking death of a Mid-City woman last year has been found competent to stand trial. After being evaluated at the North Lake hospital on the Northshore for mental health issues, Lenyra Theophile has been found competent to stand trial for the carjacking death of Linda Frickey. The trial is slated for next year. Theophile will stand trial with the other three suspects, who have also been found competent. Frickey was carjacked in March 2022, and the incident was captured on video. Each of the teens faces one count of second-degree murder, and all say they are not guilty.All four are charged as adults and could face life behind bars.
